Cortes-Acosta (14-2 MMA, 7-2 UFC) makes his fourth appearance of 2025, although he’ll be looking to get back into the win column following a unanimous decision loss to Sergei Pavlovich in August. That result snapped a solid run of five-straight wins over increasingly difficult competition.
Delija (26-6 MMA, 1-0 UFC) enters his third fight of the year after his UFC debut in September. The former PFL season winner took home a Performance of the Night award for his first-round finish of Marcin Tybura in his introduction to the UFC audience.

Well, it looks like we are back to crappy co-main events for Apex fight cards, folks.
Don’t get me wrong: Ante Delija is an accomplished regional heavyweight and is a solid pickup for the UFC. But Waldo Cortes-Acosta, despite his perceived athletic ceiling, arguably underperforms in victory and defeat, all while plying a style that sucks all the fun out of the room.
Although Delija appears more exciting at first glance, the Croatian is also not beyond engaging in grinding affairs along the fence if he’s unable to find a quick finish. For that reason, I suspect we get an ugly fight that goes long.
I’ll semi-reluctantly pick Delija to edge out the scorecards via more positive positions and consistent offense.
