Watch: Alexander Zverev complains about Carlos Alcaraz's medical timeout

by

Carlos Alcaraz received a medical timeout after the ninth game of the third set of his Australian Open semi-final clash.

His rival, Alexander Zverev, was far from happy to see that, as you can not take a medical timeout for cramps.

Alcaraz took the opening two sets of their semi-final clash at Rod Laver Arena 6-4, 7-6. World no. 1 started to feel issues in his right leg in the second part of the third set.

He started to stretch in the eighth game and closed the ninth while barely walking. He asked for a medical timeout, and the doctor treated his right leg ahead of game ten.

Zverev did not like that, talking with the supervisor and expressing his frustration. Per rules, you can not treat cramps like an injury, but Alcaraz still received a treatment.

The German did not watch his language while stating that the organizers always protect Sinner and Alcaraz. World no. 3 kept his composure and took the third set to extend the battle and his chances of reaching the second consecutive Australian Open final.
