Naomi Osaka returned to Arthur Ashe Stadium less than 24 hours after exiting the US Open as the Japanese tennis star decided to be a tennis spectator for one day and came to watch the Jannik Sinner and Felix Auger-Aliassime semifinal.
On Thursday evening, Osaka lost in a Grand Slam semifinal for the first time in her career after home star Amanda Anisimova recovered from a set down to win their marathon clash 6-7 (4) 7-6 (3) 6-3.
Friday was reserved for the US Open men's semifinal matches. The first on the court were Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic. After Alcaraz dismissed Djokovic in three sets, Sinner overcame Auger-Aliassime 6-1 3-6 6-3 6-4. Early in the second set of the Sinner and Auger-Aliassime battle, the cameras caught Osaka following the match from the stands and enjoying a nice drink.

Osaka will leave the US Open feeling 'happy'
When asked how she felt about falling short in a Slam semis for the first time in her career, the 27-year-old noted that she preferred it more than losing in the opening rounds.
“Not really. I kind of respect it more. I'm happy that I lost in the semis instead of the first round or the third round or whatever I usually get to," the Japanese said after the loss.
Also, Osaka said that there was no need for her to be upset or mad about anything.
“I don't feel sad. It's really weird. Well, it's not weird, because I just feel like I did the best that I could. Honestly, it's kind of inspiring for me because it makes me just want to train and try to get better, and hopefully just give it my very best shot again and see what happens. But I think I can't be mad or upset at myself," the 27-year-old said in the same presser.
