The North Carolina Tar Heels are flying high on the basketball court right now, sitting a perfect 2-0 after Friday night’s exciting, second-half comeback against Kansas.
Now, UNC turns its attention to a midweek game against Radford. The 2-0 Highlanders come to Chapel Hill on Tuesday night for a 7 p.m. tip-off.

North Carolina won each of its three previous matchups against Radford by an average 35 points. The Tar Heels and Highlanders last played in 2023, with the boys in Carolina Blue winning, 86-70, during both teams’ 2023-24 opener.
UNC will be playing Tuesday night without senior guard Seth Trimble, who’ll miss approximately 6-8 weeks with a broken bone in his left forearm. North Carolina has plenty of replacement options for Trimble, including West Virginia transfer Jonathan Powell, Virginia Tech transfer Jaydon Young, plus combo guards Derek Dixon and Isaiah Denis.
Radford opened its season with an 80-75 win over Western Illinois, then a 99-61 drubbing of West Virginia Wesleyan. The Highlanders are playing their first season under head coach Zach Chu, who spent last year with SMU in an advisory role.
The Tar Heels should win Tuesday’s matchup easily, but that’s no guarantee. It’ll be a great time for Hubert Davis to continue experimenting with his lineups.
