Happy Super Bowl Sunday? I wanted to do a fun, themed topic today. So here it is: If the Boston Celtics were a football team, what position would each player play?
I know that Baylor Scheierman played quarterback in high school. I don’t recall if any other Celtics played. But I’m thinking this is more fun if you go by vibes and creativity.
Jaylen Brown hits the paint with a great mix of finesse and aggressive power. I could see him as a running back. You could make the case that he’d be a good mobile quarterback as well.
Jayson Tatum tends to stay “in the pocket” more, but he’s certainly no stranger to directing the offense. So he could be a more traditional pocket passer quarterback.
Derrick White might be a shutdown corner or perhaps a roaming safety.
Would Payton Pritchard be a good slot receiver? He always looks so calm navigating the paint.
Maybe Hugo Gonzalez could be a linebacker? Or maybe a tight end?
It might be typecasting big guys, but I could see Queta, Garza, and Vuc as linemen.
I’m running out of players for the positions. Who could be a wide receiver? Jordan Walsh?
I don’t really know where to put Sam Hauser. Kicker?

If you run out of players, maybe you can pull in former players as well. Kendrick Perkins at left tackle would work!
