The NASCAR Cup Series race in 2026 at Iowa Speedway is scheduled to be a daytime race for the second-straight year.
On Nov. 12, NASCAR released the start times and TV channels for its 2026 races. The 2026 NASCAR Cup Series race is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 9 at Iowa Speedway in Newton. It is scheduled to be broadcast on the USA Network and on the radio on the Motor Racing Network.
NASCAR’s top-level Cup Series first raced at Iowa Speedway in 2024 under the lights with a 6:30 p.m. start. Ryan Blaney, whose mother hails from Chariton, won the inaugural race. In August 2025, William Byron won the second Cup Series race.
This will be the third straight year that the Iowa race will be televised on USA Network. NBC Sports produced the races for the last two years, but NBC’s parent company Comcast is in the midst of spinning off its cable channels, including USA Network, into a new company called Versant Media Group. The Iowa race is one of 10 Cup Series races in 2026 that will air on USA Network.
