Lady Vols basketball has a game to make up after its road matchup with Ole Miss was postponed due to the winter storm in the region.
The SEC intends to reschedule the game, which means Tennessee will likely have to play four games in an eight-day span to fit the game into their schedule before the postseason.

The No. 15 Lady Vols (14-3, 6-0 SEC) were originally scheduled to play Ole Miss at SJB Pavilion in Oxford, Mississippi, on Jan. 26.
“It’s going to get rescheduled. We’re still working with them to figure out when,” Lady Vols coach Kim Caldwell said Jan. 28. “Hopefully they’ll have something out soon, and it’s going to be a rough next month.”
Tennessee’s next game is against Mississippi State (15-6, 2-5) on Jan. 29 (6:30 p.m. ET, SEC Network+) at Food City Center.
When could Lady Vols vs Ole Miss be rescheduled?
Tennessee doesn’t have any openings in its schedule for the rest of the season, and it only had one open date in conference play to begin with due to its game at UConn on Feb. 1. The Lady Vols’ open date was on Jan. 15, and they have games scheduled for every Sunday and Thursday for the rest of the season.

Ole Miss had two games changed this week due to the icy conditions in Oxford. Besides the Rebels’ game against Tennessee, their home matchup with Vanderbilt was changed from Jan. 29 to Jan. 30 and moved to Birmingham, Alabama.
Ole Miss has an open date on its conference schedule on Feb. 8, which is the same day Tennessee plays at South Carolina.
Tennessee has three straight home games after its road matchup with the Gamecocks, which could be the most ideal stretch to make up the game. Rescheduling the game for Feb. 10 would be less of an inconvenience for Ole Miss. If Tennessee will have to play four games in a week regardless, the league may try to reschedule during the week of the Rebels’ open date.
How postponed game changed Tennessee’s week
Caldwell said they found out right before practice started on Jan. 25 that the Ole Miss game was being postponed. That changed the practice plan and the Lady Vols took Jan. 26 off instead of playing a game.

“We told them and we practiced pretty hard,” Caldwell said. “I think all in all, they handled the news well. And with not a lot of turnaround time to process the fact that the scout we were prepared for, and we were getting ready to get on the airplane right after practice, no longer existed. And we were going to go two hours as opposed to an hour.”
