College athletics has become a major money maker over the past couple of decades, and among the institutions that have taken advantage of the emerging cash cow is the University of Florida.
The Florida Gators have excelled across a wide range of sports, having earned 49 total team national championships dating back to 1968, along with 248 national champion athletes and 372 individual national titles. Since the 2008-09 season, the Orange and Blue have amassed 28 national titles at the team level, matching the Stanford Cardinals as the only program to claim at least one national title in each complete season since then.

Those numbers do not include the 267 SEC championships and seven lacrosse conference championships, which add up to 280 total league titles.
Given the tremendous competitive success seen in Gainesville, it makes sense that the Gators are among the most valuable college sports programs in the nation. According to CNBC’s official college sports valuations for 2025, Florida remains ranked 14th overall, with a valuation of $975 million, which represents a 13% year-over-year change; the university’s 2024 revenue of $200 million represented a 6% YOY change.
That puts UF at No. 7 in the Southeastern Conference, behind the top-ranked Texas Longhorns ($1.48 billion), Texas A&M Aggies (3rd, $1.32 billion), Georgia Bulldogs (4th, $1.16 billion), Tennessee Volunteers (7th, $1.12 billion), Alabama Crimson Tide (9th, $1.09 billion), LSU Tigers (12th, $1.05 billion) and Oklahoma Sooners (13th, $1.01 billion). The Kentucky Wildcats are right behind them at No. 15, with a valuation of $910 million.
