AMES – Iowa State women’s basketball rose in the Associated Press rankings, but dropped in the latest USA TODAY Sports Network Coaches poll.
Iowa State checked in at No. 18 in the coaches poll that came out on Nov. 11. The Cyclones had previously been ranked No. 17.

The fall comes after Iowa State opened the season with a 3-0 mark with easy wins over St. Thomas, Southern and Sacred Heart. The victories over three non-descript, non-conference foes didn’t appear to help Iowa State’s cause with voters.
After the impressive start, the Cyclones moved to No. 16 in the AP poll released on Nov. 10. They have a chance to jump up even more this week with games against Valparaiso on Nov. 12 and Norfolk State on Nov. 16.
