LSU football’s starting running back left the Tigers’ Week 4 win over SE Louisiana with an ankle injury. After the game, LSU head coach Brian Kelly said Durham would undergo further testing on Sunday to determine the seriousness of the injury.
Sunday afternoon, ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported that Durham is “expected to practice lightly this week and his status for Ole Miss will be determined later in the week. An MRI ruled out a high ankle sprain after he got injured Saturday against SE Louisiana.”

Prior to exiting, Durham carried the ball seven times for 17 yards. Durham is LSU’s top back, leading the Tigers with 213 yards. Durham is averaging 4.2 yards per carry and has two touchdowns.
Durham, a sophomore, emerged as a true freshman in 2024. The four-star from Texas surpassed 1,000 total yards. LSU’s run game has lacked efficiency in 2025, but Durham is LSU’s most experienced back. If Durham can’t go, expect Ju’Juan Johnson and Harlem Berry to receive the bulk of the carries.
LSU is 4-0 and will face Ole Miss at 2:30 p.m. CT this Saturday. Last year, LSU upset Ole Miss in overtime as Garrett Nussmeier threw the winning touchdown to Kyren Lacy.
