The Michigan Wolverines signed 24 recruits in the 2026 class on the opening day of the early signing period, leaving three unsigned committed players.
Here is where things stand with those three players entering Day 2.

Five-star RB Savion Hiter
The crown jewel offensively for the class did not sign on Wednesday, leaving some Michigan fans worried about whether or not he would flip his commitment.
But fear not, as EJ Holland of The Wolverine reassured everyone that Savion Hiter will sign on Thursday and officially become a Wolverine. There is nothing to worry about anymore, and the No. 8 overall prospect in the class will soon be Michigan bound.
Four-star WR Zion Robinson
This was a bit of a surprise situation that unfolded on Wednesday morning, as four-star wide receiver Zion Robinson announced he would be delaying his decision “until further notice.” The reason why is simple — Stanford sent him a significant offer that he had to take more time to entertain.

According to The Michigan Insider’s Sam Webb ($), communication remains ongoing between Michigan and Robinson, and he will be announcing his final decision sometime on Thursday.
But another wrench was thrown into the mix on Wednesday night in a report from Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong, saying Michigan had been in contact with Georgia four-star wide receiver Brady Marchese, who also has yet to put pen to paper. He took a surprise official visit to Michigan over the summer when he was already committed to Georgia, and Webb said in his report Marchese was the one that made first contact with Michigan on Wednesday.
Could the Wolverines say “screw it” and take both wide receivers? Odds are probably not, but it’ll be interesting to see if one, both, or none of these guys end up in Michigan’s class. We will find out soon enough.
Four-star edge rusher Julian Walker
Finally, we have Top-100 overall prospect Julian Walker. The South Carolina legacy prospect planned on signing on Wednesday, but it was reported pretty early in the day he would slow things down and sign on Thursday.

Walker has been committed to Michigan since June, and it was a bit of a shock when he did so. The son of an assistant strength and conditioning coach with the Gamecocks, it seemed he was always going to be bound for South Carolina. However, Lou Esposito did one hell of a job recruiting him and eventually won both he and his father over enough to get his verbal commitment.
But it was always going to be difficult to get this thing signed, sealed and delivered. Walker and his family continue to have conversations about what is best for his future and what the implications would be if he were to go somewhere else for college. Per reports from The Wolverines’ Ethan McDowell, Walker’s mom would move to Ann Arbor if her son decides to play at Michigan. Sounds simple enough and like a really good compromise, but there are a lot of logistics that go into making a big move like that, especially leaving her husband in South Carolina to continue his work with the football program. Planning out that big of a life change probably has the family thinking about all the next steps, so it’s no surprise they are taking their time.
All in all, Walker is expected to sign sometime on Thursday.
