Vanderbilt basketball has moved into the top 10 of the USA TODAY Coaches Poll after winning its SEC opener against South Carolina.
The Commodores are ranked No. 10 in the latest poll, moving up one spot from No. 11.

Vanderbilt defeated South Carolina, 83-71, on the road in its conference opener despite being without Duke Miles and Frankie Collins.
The Commodores also picked up a ranked win as SMU moved into the poll at No. 25. Vanderbilt defeated SMU, 88-69, in December.
The Commodores are the highest-ranked SEC team in the poll. They will face the next-highest ranked SEC team, No. 12 Alabama, at Memorial Gymnasium on Jan. 7 (8 p.m. CT, ESPN2).
