Vanderbilt women’s basketball remained at No. 19 in the AP Poll after defeating Cal in its season opener in the Oui-Play Paris event.
The Commodores (1-0) won that game, 74-65, as Mikayla Blakes scored 27 points. Their home opener against Furman is at Memorial Gymnasium on Nov. 10 (6 p.m. CT, SEC Network).

Blakes is the headliner for Vanderbilt. She was named a Preseason All-American by multiple outlets after being the SEC Freshman of the Year in 2025. Other key pieces include Sacha Washington (10 points, eight rebounds in the opener), Justine Pissott (nine points, seven rebounds), freshman Aubrey Galvan (seven points, nine rebounds, seven assists) and Texas transfer Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda (seven points). Aiyana Mitchell also put up a double-double off the bench with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
