With Vanderbilt off this weekend, Commodores quarterback Diego Pavia took in a Tennessee high school football game on Oct. 10.

Pavia showed up to watch Nashville Christian host Tyner Academy, and Pavia got to see one of the nation’s top high school quarterbacks in the Eagles’ Jared Curtis. Curtis threw for 312 yards and four touchdowns as Nashville Christian knocked off Tyner Academy, 49-42, in TSSAA Week 8 action.

Curtis, a Georgia football commitment, is a five-star recruit from the 2026 class and ranked as the No. 1 prospect in Tennessee and the top-ranked QB in the nation, according to 247Sports Composite. Nashville Christian is the No. 1-ranked team in Division II-A, and the defending TSSAA state champs improved to 7-0.

Pavia has led the Commodores to a 5-1 record this season. Vanderbilt suffered its first loss against Alabama, 30-14, on Oct. 4. The 20th-ranked ‘Dores will host LSU on Oct. 18. Pavia has thrown for 1,409 yards and 14 touchdowns with four interceptions. He’s also rushed for 352 yards and two TDs.
