Wisconsin basketball will enter the 2025-26 season ranked No. 24 in the AP Poll.
The Badgers, fresh off an impressive 27-10 2024-25 campaign that concluded with a disappointing NCAA Tournament loss to BYU, enter 2025-26 as the sixth-highest-ranked Big Ten team, behind No. 1 Purdue, No. 7 Michigan, No. 12 UCLA, No. 17 Illinois and No. 22 Michigan State.

Wisconsin will roll out a new-look lineup to start the year. Starters John Blackwell and Nolan Winter each return to lead the backcourt and frontcourt, respectively. Transfer guard Nick Boyd, wing Andrew Rohde and forward Austin Rapp will then round out what, on paper, appears to be one of the conference’s best starting lineups. Sophomore Jack Janicki, transfer Braeden Carrington and several others round out a bench unit that will be key to the team’s success.
Wisconsin’s season will likely be defined by how the team plays against top Big Ten competition, as seen in the preseason AP Poll. The Badgers will begin their season with an exhibition against Oklahoma on Oct. 24. After that, a Nov. 3 matchup against Campbell tips off a season with sky-high expectations.
