Which players are committed to Oklahoma State men’s basketball 2026 recruiting class?

STILLWATER — The 2026 recruiting class is the first for coach Steve Lutz at Oklahoma State in which he will have a full runway with the benefit of recruiting players before their senior season of high school.

And based on early returns, Lutz and his coaching staff are taking supreme advantage of the opportunity.

Hired on April 1, 2024, Lutz didn’t have a high school signing on his first team. And he did much of his recruiting work later in the period for the 2025 class, adding three high school prospects during traditional signing periods and two European players over the summer.

But the 2026 class seems to offer the best perspective on how Lutz and his staff will attack the recruiting trail.

Latrell Allmond, forward, Petersburg, Virginia

A 6-foot-8, 225-pound power forward, Allmond is a four-star prospect and the highest-rated high school recruit OSU has landed since former coach Mike Boynton pulled in current Detroit Pistons star Cade Cunningham, according to 247Sports.

Allmond, who picked the Pokes over Maryland, Virginia, Tennessee and Indiana, is a top-30 recruit in the class. He has a strong frame, with smooth athleticism. His long body helps with defense and rebounding in the paint, and his offensive game is best inside, but growing away from the basket.

Jalen Montonati, G, Owasso

Jalen is the son of former Cowboy Brian Montonati, who coaches his son at Owasso. Because of his high-level recruiting profile, keeping Jalen in the family at OSU was a major success for Lutz. The 6-foot-7 wing had offers from just about every notable Big 12, SEC and Big Ten program as a four-star prospect.

The Oklahoman’s reigning Super 5 Player of the Year, Montonati averaged 23.3 points and 6.3 rebounds as a junior for the Rams last season. He’s a high-level scorer with a variety of skills and a high basketball IQ on both ends of the floor.
