White Sox trade for Tristan Peters from Rays

CHICAGO – The White Sox on Thursday acquired left-handed-hitting outfielder from the Rays in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

Peters was named International League Player of the Month for June after hitting .385/.486/.670 with 11 doubles, five home runs and 27 RBIs in 25 games. He originally was selected by Milwaukee in the seventh round of the 2021 Draft out of Southern Illinois University and traded by the Brewers to San Francisco on Aug. 2, 2022, in return for right-handed pitcher Trevor Rosenthal.

San Francisco traded Peters to the Rays on Nov. 15, 2022, in exchange for infielder Brett Wisely. The White Sox 40-man roster increases to 39, with Peters being joined by Luis Robert Jr., Andrew Benintendi, Brooks Baldwin, Derek Hill and Everson Pereira in the outfield.
