Who did Missouri football lose to transfer portal? Where ex-Tigers landed

by

Roll call.

The transfer portal is essentially finished for the year. There will be an outlier here and a late commitment there, but most teams have wrapped up their business ahead of spring practices,

Since there is no spring transfer portal window this year, that means rosters are close to complete.

Missouri football has signed 28 players so far, starting with Oregon cornerback Jahlil Florence back on Jan. 5 and most recently with Ole Miss wide receiver Cayden Lee on Jan. 24.

There are also 26 now-former Tigers heading the other way, transferring to new programs for the 2026 season. If you’ve managed to keep up with the dozens of comings and goings, kudos. That’s no mean feat.

If you haven’t kept track of each and every one, that’s what we’re here for.

Here’s who Mizzou has lost to the portal this year, and where the Tigers’ outgoing players will play this year:

More: 3 underrated players from Missouri football’s transfer portal haul

Damon Wilson, defensive end, Miami

Perhaps the most impactful and most surprising loss of the offseason, Wilson is headed to the ‘U’ for his final year of eligibility.

He had the option to declare early for the NFL Draft and likely would have drawn top-100 consideration, but after leading Mizzou in QB pressures and sacks last season, he’s moving to Miami.

Beau Pribula, quarterback, Virginia

Mizzou’s QB1 from 2025 will spend his final college season with the team that beat the Tigers in the Gator Bowl. Pribula, for what it’s worth, was not in attendance for that game.

Pribula will compete for the starting job with Pittsburgh transfer Eli Holstein after throwing for 194.1 yards per game with 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions in Columbia last year.

Marquis Johnson, wide receiver, Mississippi State

Johnson burst onto the scene as a true freshman but never truly took the next step. He’ll stick in the SEC with Mississippi State, where Missouri plays. Johnson caught 66 passes for 1,075 yards and six touchdowns in three seasons.

Marvin Burks Jr., safety, Wisconsin

Another surprise: Burks, a St. Louis product and two-year starter in Columbia, is headed to the Big Ten to play for Luke Fickell’s Badgers. Burks had 92 total tackles and two interceptions over three total years in Columbia.

Joshua Manning, wide receiver, Kansas State

Manning stayed the course and developed into a starter in his third season with the program, but will spend his final year of eligibility in Manhattan under new head coach Collin Klein. He caught 29 passes for 318 yards and two TDs last season.

Nate Johnson, defensive end, Auburn

Johnson was a former freshman All-American but never really left his mark on Mizzou’s edge rushing room, as Wilson and Zion Young were the stars of the show in 2025. He only played 86 total snaps in his lone season in Columbia.

Jayven Richardson, offensive tackle, Colorado

Richardson will move to Boulder after spending the past two seasons as Mizzou’s backup left tackle.

Daniel Blood, wide receiver, Washington State

Blood is the only Missouri transfer to date to follow former offensive coordinator Kirby Moore after he was named the head coach at Wazzu in December.

Mose Phillips III, safety, Oklahoma State

The former Virginia Tech transfer will join new head coach Eric Morris’ first team in Stillwater. He played in eight games in the Mizzou secondary.

Javion Hilson, defensive end, Virginia Tech

Hilson was Mizzou’s top-ranked recruit and a late flip in the Class of 2025. He maintained a redshirt and will retain four remaining years of eligibility with James Franklin at Virginia Tech.

The former four-star running back had an uphill battle for reps in his second season behind Ahmad Hardy and Jamal Roberts.

Johnny Williams IV (OT), Henry Fenuku (OG) and Brendon Haygood (RB): North Texas

Three Mizzou players are heading to Denton, Texas, next season. Williams was MU’s backup right tackle last season, while Haygood and Fenuku were true freshmen.

Keiton Jones, offensive lineman, Kansas State

Jones, labeled as ‘strong as an ox, maybe even two of them,’ by MU left tackle Cayden Green, is heading back to his home state after one season in Columbia.

Mark Manfred III, cornerback, Kentucky

Manfred was a three-star cornerback in the Class of 2025. He joins new coach Will Stein’s first team in Lexington.

Caleb Flagg, safety, UCF

Flagg left the program early in the 2025 season with the intention to transfer.

James Madison II, wide receiver, UTSA

No JMU for James Madison II, which would have been fun. The wideout is going to San Antonio.

Justin Bodford, defensive tackle, Middle Tennessee

Bodford played 11 defensive snaps over two seasons with Mizzou.

Shamar McNeil, cornerback, Akron

McNeil was a backup for three years in Columbia and will play in the MAC next season.

Jaylen Early, offensive lineman, Texas State

Early was a late-spring addition to the team last year from Florida State, but the versatile lineman never made it into the lineup in Columbia.

Tavorus Jones, running back, UTEP

Jones is from El Paso and will spend his final year of eligibility playing in his hometown. He rushed for 113 yards and a touchdown in his MU career.

Robert Meyer, kicker, UC Davis

Missouri football placekicker Robert Meyer (88) kicks an extra point while punter Connor Weselman (45) holds during first half of the Tigers' game against Kansas on Sept. 6, 2025 in Columbia, MO. Mathew Kirby.

Missouri football placekicker Robert Meyer (88) kicks an extra point while punter Connor Weselman (45) holds during first half of the Tigers’ game against Kansas on Sept. 6, 2025 in Columbia, MO. Mathew Kirby.

Meyer, a California native, filled in as Mizzou’s kicker after Blake Craig’s Week 1 injury. He went 10-of-14 on field goals and 36-of-38 on PATs.

Still uncommitted

Ryder Goodwin (kicker); Brandon Solis (offensive lineman); Dakotah Terrell (tight end); Bralen Henderson (defensive tackle).

Important notes: Terrell intends to switch sports from football to basketball, and Henderson appears to have exhausted his eligibility.
