Sean Strickland has a knack for beating up anyone willing to test his boundaries, including young kids just looking for the chance to spar with a former UFC champion.
Earlier this week, Alex Pereira’s head coach, Plinio Cruz, released some footage of Strickland during a recent visit to his gym in New Jersey. Strickland has been one of Pereira’s main training partners as “Poatan” prepares for his rematch with UFC light heavyweight champion, Magomed Ankalaev, next weekend at UFC 320. During some free time, Strickland decided to help some aspiring young fighters by strapping on the gloves and doing a little “light” sparring.
UFC fighters in these type of situations usually take it easy — especially if they’re mixing it up with a young kid — but not Strickland. The former UFC champion had no problem dishing out a little punishment and hitting the young fighter with a front kick right in the stomach. The kid dropped to the mat in pain, but still kept sparring. Strickland went on to do it once more for good measure.
Check out the footage below:
Ironically, Strickland is not the only UFC fighter to inflict pain on a young MMA fan this week. No. 2-ranked UFC lightweight contender, Arman Tsarukyan, also went a little too hard with his strikes during a recent meet-up with a young kid. Tsarukyan threw a punch to the stomach and knocked the boy backwards into some bushes.
