The short-term future of the middleweight division got a shake up at UFC Fight Night 262 when Brendan Allen derailed the momentum of Reinier de Ridder.

After stepping in as a replacement for Anthony Hernandez after injury, Brendan Allen (26-7 MMA, 14-4 UFC) successfully shut down and overwhelmed de Ridder (20-3 MMA, 4-1 UFC) to the point his corner called the fight prior to the fifth round, awarding “All In” the TKO win at Rogers Arena in Vancouver.

It was arguably the biggest triumph of Allen’s career thus far, and puts him in a prominent position in the 185-pound hierarchy currently run by undefeated champion Khamzat Chimaev.

Where does Allen fit in among the other contenders? Watch the video above for thoughts and analysis on his future after UFC Fight Night 262.
