Matchmaker: What’s next for Gabriel Bonfim after KO of Randy Brown?
Gabriel Bonfim is proving to be a promising welterweight prospect after his KO of Randy Brown at UFC Fight Night 264. What’s next? MMA Junkie’s Mike Bohn plays matchmaker in “Sean Shelby’s Shoes.”
Gabriel Bonfim continued to show signs as a promising future welterweight contender Saturday when he stopped Randy Brown in the UFC Fight Night 264 main event.
Bonfim (19-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) showed he was a level above Brown (20-7 MMA, 14-7 UFC) in the striking exchanges at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas before landing a knee that sealed the deal for the second-round knockout.
The Brazilian has rebounded from his first and only career loss to Nicolas Dalby in November 2023 with fourth consecutive victories – three of which have come by stoppage.
Bonfim called out Colby Covington after the win, but that fell flat for many. If he doesn’t get that fight, however, who should be next for the 28-year-old?
