Lady Vols basketball continues to climb in the latest bracketology for March Madness.

No. 15 Tennessee (14-3, 6-0 SEC) is on a seven-game winning streak, which includes two straight wins over ranked opponents. The Lady Vols have a chance to solidify their spot in the top 16 teams with a road matchup against No. 1 UConn on Feb. 1, but first they’ll face Mississippi State at home on Jan. 29 (6:30 p.m. ET, SEC Network+).

ESPN’s Charlie Creme moved the Lady Vols up to a No. 3 seed in Region 3 in Fort Worth, which has Texas as the No. 1 seed. Tennessee would play No. 14 seed High Point and host No. 6 seed Princeton vs. the winner of Virginia Tech and Arizona State, which would be a No. 11 seed.

Creme projected the Lady Vols back to hosting as a No. 4 seed for the last two weeks after they got off to a strong start in SEC play. But with two ranked wins under their belt, Creme bumped Tennessee up a seed line.

The Athletic projected the Lady Vols as a No. 5 seed in its bracketology on Jan. 23. Tennessee would play No. 12 seed Montana State in the opening rounds hosted by No. 4 seed Duke, which would play No. 13 seed Ball State.

Lady Vols basketball’s NCAA Tournament resume

The Lady Vols have two ranked wins over Alabama and Kentucky, and they have two ranked losses – NC State was ranked in the top 10 the first week of the season, but has since fallen out of the rankings at 14-6.

The Wolfpack are still ranked No. 26 in the NCAA NET rankings, though, so it’s not the worst loss UT could have on its resume. Its other losses are UCLA, which is No. 2 in the NET, and Louisville, which is No. 8.

Tennessee has three wins over teams ranked in the top 40 of the NET – Kentucky, Alabama and Mississippi State.

The Lady Vols are No. 17 in the NCAA NET rankings. They’re 4-3 in Quad 1 games, 2-0 in Quad 2 and 8-0 in Quad 4.
