Bangladesh are taking on Team India in their second Super-4 match after having defeated India in the first Super-4 fixture; however, they suffer a huge blow ahead of the crucial contest as Bangladesh Captain Litton Das is not playing the game due to a back strain.
India and Bangladesh, the two neighbouring Asian sides, have both made a stunning start to their Asia Cup Super-4 campaign. Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka in the first game, while India registered their second win over Pakistan in this Asia Cup.
Following the convincing start, the Bengal Tigers are scheduled to take on the Men in Blue in their second Super-4 match at the Dubai International Stadium. The Bangladesh coach Phil Simmons should have immense belief on his side, having claimed that ‘every team can beat India.’

Litton Das misses out on a crucial Super-4 fixture against India
Bangladesh have played well in the Asia Cup so far, losing only one of their 4 games. They lost to the Lankans during the group-stage games but bounced back with a win in the Super-4. The new skipper, Litton Das, has been largely lauded for this amount of success in Bangladesh cricket.
However, the skipper, who recently won them a series against Sri Lanka on the Lankan soil, has missed out on the most vital contest against India. At the time of the toss, Jaker Ali took the field alongside Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav.
The Bangladesh skipper has been ruled out owing to a serious back strain.
“Bangladesh captain Litton Kumer Das has a side (left) strain and is unavailable for today’s Asia Cup Super 4 match against India in Dubai. Jaker Ali Anik will captain the side in the match,” BCB said.
Parvez Hossain Emon replaces Litton Das in the Bangladesh playing XI
The Bangladesh skipper has been replaced by the batter Parvez Hossain Emon. The batter is playing for the first time in this Asia Cup. Litton Das has played some crucial innings for his team, especially during chases. Emon would also have to take up the crucial role in the absence of the skipper.
Emon has played 21 matches for Bangladesh in the shortest format of the game. The batter has scored 430 runs in his T20 international career and has averaged 21.50. He has the highest score of 100 in his career and is among the few Bangladesh players with a hundred in the format.
Bangladesh makes four changes ahead of India clash
Other than the skipper himself, Bangladesh has also replaced the likes of pacers Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam. Tanzim Hasan Shakib and Rishad Hossain have been added to the playing XI for Bangladesh, replacing the two fast bowlers. Rishad brings along some batting depth in the side, which would be needed following Litton Das’s exit.
Mohammad Saifuddin, the bowling all-rounder in the Bangladesh side, has replaced Mehdi Hasan in the playing XI. These changes have been made in order to fancy their chances against the World Champion side, India.
