Will Alabama basketball G Latrell Wrightsell play vs UTSA? Final injury update

by

The final injury update is in for Alabama basketball before the Crimson Tide faces University of Texas-San Antonio.

While guard Aden Holloway misses his second straight game with a wrist injury as confirmed by coach Nate Oats in an appearance on the Crimson Tide Sports Network, forward Keitenn Bristow (leg) will also be sidelined once again.

Meanwhile, veteran guard Latrell Wrightsell Jr. will return after missing the entirety of the Players Era Festival in Las Vegas, as well as Clemson, with a leg injury.

Oats said that Wrightsell looked “great” in practice before meeting the Roadrunners. He will also return to the starting lineup against former Alabama assistant Austin Claunch, now the head coach at UTSA.

Wrightsell and Holloway both were listed as game-time decisions coming into the matchup on Sunday, Dec. 7, but Bristow was doubtful.

Oats also noted that Miami transfer guard Jalil Bethea will have more time on the floor than he did in his Crimson Tide debut against Clemson. Bethea only played six minutes against the Tigers.

After UTSA, No. 12 Alabama (6-2) will face Arizona, who Oats anticipates to be the No. 1 team in the country, in the C.M. Newton Classic on Saturday, Dec. 13. The game will be played at the BJCC in Birmingham, Alabama.
