There’s A LOT going on at LSU right now. Head football coach Brian Kelly was fired earlier in the week. Athletic director Scott Woodward is out, not long after Louisiana governor Jeff Landry said LSU’s board of supervisors would be hiring Kelly’s replacement and NOT Woodward.
So it’s maybe a bit soon to think about who’s the next football coach at LSU, but there are a lot of folks wondering if Ole Miss‘s Lane Kiffin could be the No. 1 target.

It’s a weird time for all that, and not just because there’s chaos in Louisiana. It’s because Kiffin’s Rebels are a College Football Playoff contender. And there are also other jobs that are or might be open (see: Florida).

“Jobs that weren’t great jobs before are now. Lane is the first name up for Florida and the first name up for LSU, but I think you can have a long debate on whether either one of those jobs is actually better than the job he has now because he has some guys over there at Ole Miss that give him pretty much whatever he wants from a roster standpoint.”
