Paige Bueckers and Caitlin Clark demonstrated they could emerge as the faces the WNBA in very short order upon entering the league. But what if you had to pick between the two?

The draw of Clark — not to mention her explosive long-range shooting and dynamic playmaking — makes this choice an easy one for Indiana Fever fans. Clark, the WNBA’s Rookie of the Year in 2024, has been credited with bringing many new fans to the Fever and to the WNBA at large; though he missed much of the 2025 season through injury, Clark led all players in All-Star fan voting and figures to be an MVP candidate if healthy in 2026.

While Bueckers, who won Rookie of the Year in 2025, did not enjoy immediate team success when she entered the W, the consensus remains that she will help the Dallas Wings open up a championship contention window in the near future. Like Indiana in 2024, Dallas chose to hire a new coach for Bueckers entering her second season; while the Fever turned to former Coach of the Year Stephanie White to replace Christie Sides, the Wings have replaced Chris Koclanes with longtime South Florida coach Jose Fernandez — who has promised that his Dallas team will not be the “same old Wings.”

Wings fans rally around Geiselsoder

The point is, a WNBA franchise can’t really go wrong picking Clark or Bueckers if it is starting from the ground up. That said, it is no surprise that Wings center Luisa Geiselsoder would prefer Bueckers as her point guard over Clark.

Germany star Geiselsoder told The Journey that Bueckers was the easy pick in comparison with Clark, which sparked spirited debate on Instagram.
