Robin Pingeton’s first Big Ten schedule as Wisconsin women’s basketball coach will begin and end with some of the conference’s more challenging foes.
Wisconsin’s Big Ten opener will be Dec. 7 at home against Michigan State — a team that won 11 conference games last year. The Badgers’ first road game will be Dec. 29 at Maryland — a team that has not missed the NCAA tournament since 2010.

The Badgers’ last three Big Ten games, meanwhile, will be Feb. 19 at USC, Feb. 22 at UCLA and March 1 at home against Iowa. All three teams went to last year’s NCAA tournament, and UCLA was a Final Four team.
Pingeton arrived at Wisconsin after 15 seasons at Missouri, where she went 250-218 overall and 95-148 in SEC play. She will be looking to improve a team that went 4-14 in Big Ten play last year.
