One of Wisconsin football’s former top class of 2026 targets, offensive tackle Kamari Blair, flipped his collegiate commitment from South Carolina to Tennessee on Thursday.
After whittling his list of finalists down to three destinations in early July, Blair elected to pledge his commitment to the Gamecocks on July 17. Roughly one month later, he has pivoted to the Volunteers — another one of his finalists. The Clarksville, Tennessee, product is now headed to his state’s most prestigious NCAA Division I football power.

247Sports considers Blair the No. 294 overall player in the class of 2026, the No. 27 offensive tackle and the No. 9 recruit from his home state of Tennessee. The 6-foot-5 tackle did take a visit to Wisconsin the weekend of May 30. He was one of five blue-chip players to visit that weekend. Wide receiver Jayden Petit and running back Amari Latimer, both of whom ventured to UW alongside Blair, committed to Luke Fickell’s program in June.
Blair joins a Tennessee class of 2026 that boasts the No. 11 position in the nation with 23 players committed. That bunch is headlined by five-star quarterback Faizon Brandon, the No. 1-ranked recruit in his class, and five-star offensive tackle Gabriel Osenda, the country’s No. 4 tackle.
The Badgers, meanwhile, boast the No. 60-rated recruiting class in the country with 14 athletes committed. UW has not received a commitment since Petit in late June.

Fickell’s group is still in search of its third straight season with a top 25 recruiting class. With little movement remaining, the program is unlikely to reach that range before the beginning of the 2025 season.
