Wisconsin lands commitment from Southern Illinois transfer tight end

by

Wisconsin landed a transfer commitment from Southern Illinois transfer tight end Ryan Schwendeman on Saturday.

Schwendeman entered the portal last week after four years with the Salukis. He originally joined the program as a two-star recruit in the class of 2022. After redshirting as a true freshman in 2022, he appeared in 25 games over the next three seasons, totaling 28 receptions, 327 yards and four touchdowns. His best season came as a redshirt junior in 2025, as he tallied 191 yards and two touchdowns on 15 receptions.

The veteran joins the Badgers with two years of eligibility remaining. He is one of two transfer additions at the position, along with Bowling Green transfer Jacob Harris. The two will look to become key passing options for quarterback Colton Joseph, who recently signed with the program. Unsurprisingly, the play of the transfer class will largely define the success of Wisconsin’s 2026 offense.
