MADISON – First the Wisconsin football program lost running back recruit Amari Latimer.
Now his brother is leaving.
Geimere Latimer, a junior defensive back who was the Badgers’ top nickel cornerback this season, will enter the transfer portal. On3 reported the news Tuesday, Dec. 16, and Latimer, who hails from Fairburn, Georgia, reposted the post on his X and Instagram accounts.

Latimer is Amari’s older brother. Amari Latimer, a four-star prospect, was Wisconsin’s highest-ranked recruit until he flipped his commitment to West Virginia on signing day Dec. 3.

Geimere Latimer, who played his first two seasons at Jacksonville State, climbed to the top of UW’s depth chart during spring practice and maintained that spot throughout fall camp and the season.
He played in every game and finished with 28 tackles, 17 solo, with one forced fumble. He ranked sixth on the team in defensive snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.

His departure means the Badgers secondary with be anchored by safety Matt Jung, who will be a senior next season, and cornerback Omillio Agard, who will be a redshirt sophomore.
