The Las Vegas Aces needed their entire team to pitch in during a tight 89-86 win in Game 1 of the WNBA Finals. Dana Evans and Jewell Lloyd each dropped at least 18 points off the bench to will the team to a huge win over the Phoenix Mercury.

The Mercury, meanwhile, were left wondering how they let Game 1 slip away. The team led most of the way, but couldn’t finish off the tough Aces. Despite shooting 39 percent on 3s, the Mercury somehow gave away the game.

If the Mercury are going to turn things around Sunday, they’ll need to do it on the road, down 1-0 — a familiar position for them throughout this postseason.
It won’t be easy, especially considering the Aces employ MVP A’ja Wilson. But if Game 1 was an indication, these are two evenly-matched teams. The Mercury will be out to prove that’s the case in Game 2.
