The WNBA Players Association doesn’t see league proposal of a $1.1 million max Salary talks are moving negotiations forward.
According to the AP, The WNBA had proposed a max salary raise from $250,000 to more than $1.1 million.
Will be available to more than one player per team.
I want to stress that we see these numbers, they feel like funny money.
Caroline, but, uh, there’s so much more to it and where the money comes in, how the money Is going to be spent and how players get it and what percentages it is related to.
This is not a simple situation.
It is very complicated, I think.
Complications only continue to rise as this situation drags on.

Because, frankly, we have a WNBA that believes one thing, And we have a WNBPA, the Players Association, that is very lockstep.
That believes in trying to protect the future of their sport.
Uh, it feels like this is getting more galvanized, not less over time.
Yeah, I think its important to point out that $1.1 million Supermax number, Yeah, it sounds great, but I think you have to look at those numbers the same way.
Maybe we look at people’s weights, right?
If you say you’re 150 pounds, well, that could mean a million different things.
Well, how tall are you?
Are you a man or a woman?
So on and so forth.

So, I think the scale is important.
While it’s a massive increase from before, the previous maximum salary, What the WNBPA and players are fighting for is a percentage of the revenue share, Not a hard and fast number, because $1.1 million in.
NB: money today might be a far cry from what it is five years from now.
What players are fighting for, what they want is the opportunity to grow with the revenue of the league.
The extended deadline is November 30.
So we’re five days away, and all reports say that the WNVP will happen.
The NBA is not on board with some of the proposals released by the WNBA.
We have 5 days left.

And look, there could always be another extension.
We could enter a period where they just continue operating under the existing CBA, But with the, uh, understanding that, uh, The players can strike at any time they want.
