Brittney Griner spent her 12thWNBA season with the Atlanta Dream. After playing for the Phoenix Mercury for 11 years, the 6-foot-9 center signed with the Dream as a free agent ahead of the 2025 season.
Griner started the season as Atlanta’s starting center. However, after a mid-season injury, she was shifted to a bench role. The 34-year-old served as the Dream’s backup center the rest of the way.

Griner’s deal with the Dream was for one year, now making her an unrestricted free agent. If Atlanta does not offer her an extension, Griner will need to negotiate a new contract with another WNBA team ahead of her 13th season.
On Wednesday, the two-time Defensive Player of the Year took to social media to announce some news away from basketball. As she navigates another offseason, Griner decided to start her own YouTube channel.
