Caitlin Clark will return to a basketball arena on TV this weekend.
NBC Sports announced Tuesday that Clark will make two appearances as a “special contributor” on Sunday Night Basketball, which debuts on Feb. 1. The Indiana Fever star will work the first game when the New York Knicks host the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday.

Clark will provide pre-game commentary alongside NBC’s studio team of host Maria Taylor and NBC icons Carmelo Anthony, Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady. The 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year will work another Knicks game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on March 29.
“I’m really excited to be part of the Basketball Night in America crew this season,” Clark said in NBC’s press release. “Carmelo, Vince, and Tracy are legends of the game and Maria is a true professional. It will be really fun to join them a few times this season.”
NBC executive producer Sam Flood celebrated Clark’s upcoming appearances.

“Caitlin is one of the most captivating players and dynamic scorers in basketball,” Flood said. “We’re excited to have Caitlin join Hall of Famers Melo, Vince, Tracy and Reggie in New York for the launch of Sunday Night Basketball.”
“We’re confident she’ll thrive”

Clark has graced NBC programming on Saturday Night Live, but Sunday will mark the guard’s TV broadcasting debut. Flood anticipated a seamless transition for the 24-year-old.

“She’s going to be in a basketball arena, like she always is, and in her comfort zone — which is on the court talking about the sport she loves and the sport that she shines in,” Flood told Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press. “So, what better place for her to debut than in Madison Square Garden with this great team of talent around her? We’re confident she’ll thrive, because a basketball court is her second home.”
Clark took the basketball world by storm when becoming the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer and leading Iowa to consecutive National Championship Games. She guided the Fever to the playoffs as a rookie, averaging 19.2 points and a league-leading 8.4 assists per game as a first-team All-WNBA selection.
Last year didn’t go as smoothly for 2024’s No. 1 pick. Injuries limited Clark to 13 games, so she hasn’t played since July 15. Basketball fans will at least get to see her Sunday night on NBC before the Knicks and Lakers tip off at 7 p.m. ET.
