The Panini Player of the Day program will now feature WNBA players.
The hobby-store program has featured NBA and NFL stars, but this is the first time the WNBA is getting into the mix.
Collectors can go to one of 500 participating stores from September to November. Here’s how the program works:

-
Visit one of the participating shops.
-
Get a Panini Player of the Day pack.
-
If you pull the Player of the Day marked on Panini’s calendar that day, you win.
But there’s more to the program than just cards. Collectors are also entered into a weekly drawing and a grand-prize drawing. The grand-prize winner at each store will get a signed Panini WNBA Player of the Day card and then be entered into a nationwide sweepstakes.
One winner from that group will win a Collector Fantasy Experience. It includes a meet-and-greet with a WNBA player, a private party at their local hobby store, signed memorabilia and Panini products from their local shop.
Panini has been building its WNBA portfolio of trading cards by adding at least five products this year, the company revealed earlier.
“Hobby shop owners and collectors began asking us last year when we would bring the Player of the Day promotion to the WNBA,” said Jason Howarth, vice president of marketing for Panini, in a release. “This launch gives us a unique way to reward hobby shops and collectors and celebrate the incredible popularity of the WNBA and Panini WNBA Trading Cards.”

WNBA cards have gained a lot of attention, too, based on sales of Caitlin Clark cards. A 2024 Panini Flawless Logowoman patch autograph sold for $660,000 in July and a 2024 National Treasures Logowoman patch autograph sold for $504,000 in August. More than 10 different Clark cards have sold for six figures.
Other WNBA players who have gained attention with collectors include Angel Reese, Paige Bueckers, Breanna Steweart, Sabrina Ionescu, A’ja Wilson and Cameron Brink – which are sure to be featured in the Panini Player of the Day program.
