The World’s Most Autographed Baseball attracted a lot of attention this summer. This fall, it’s attracted a little bit more — and some hardware to go with it.
The annual advertising awards known as The Clios have recognized Minor League Baseball’s head-turning promotion with a 2025 Bronze Award in the medium of “Gameday Fan Experience.” The World’s Most Autographed Baseball, 8 feet in diameter and weighing 1,200 pounds, made a road trip visiting 15 Minor League Ballparks and culminating with a stop outside of Major League Baseball’s New York headquarters in July.
Its 6,750 verified signatures were gathered over the course of that 2,600-mile journey, with commissioner Rob Manfred adding the final John Hancock in front of a Guinness World Records adjudicator.
In issuing the Bronze Award, The Clios recognized, “The World’s Most Autographed Baseball experience was beautifully simple — sign the ball, take photos, share on social — but the emotional impact was profound. Every autograph made fans part of baseball history.
“With 6,750 signatures collected, the campaign proved that the most powerful activations don’t just entertain—they invite participation in something bigger, celebrating the authentic charm that makes Minor League Baseball truly special.”
Entertainment, charm and emotional impact all have a huge part in baseball and advertising, and so do stats. The World’s Most Autographed Baseball reached 68.7 million users on social media with 98.2 percent positive sentiment and boosted attendance at games it stopped at by almost 69.2 percent compared to MiLB total game average attendance. It also generated 32 broadcast news stories.
The World’s Most Autographed Baseball was also shortlisted in the Event/Activation category, and in earning a Clio Award, MiLB is in good company around the baseball world.
Major League Baseball picked up three Gold Awards, a Silver Award and two Bronze Awards. The New York Mets took home two Golds, two Silvers and a Bronze Award. The Boston Red Sox won a Bronze Award for their Fenway Park City Connect initiative.
MLB and both of the aforementioned clubs were also shortlisted for other awards — as were the Philadelphia Phillies and the Chicago White Sox.
