The biggest WrestleMania of all time is about to be made officialβand itβs happening this Friday.
WWE and Saudi Arabia have finalized the deal for WrestleMania 43 to take place in 2027 as part of the Kingdomβs massive 300th anniversary celebration, and the official announcement is set to go down in Las Vegas.
The timing lines up perfectly, as top TKO executives are already in Vegas for the Canelo vs. Crawford super fight and WWEβs Worlds Collide weekend. With all the major players under one roof, WWE is expected to make the blockbuster reveal on Friday, putting to rest all the rumors about where WrestleMania is heading next.
While an early post this week mistakenly jumped the gun, the information was realβand now itβs just a matter of WWE making it official. Behind the scenes, this event isnβt just another premium show on the calendarβitβs shaping up to be the most over-the-top spectacle in WWE history. Dave Meltzer reported that Saudi officials are throwing down mind-blowing sums of money to make WrestleMania 43 the most star-studded card ever assembled.
βTheyβre putting up an incredible amount of money, a ridiculous amount of money. And the idea is to present the most star-studded show everβby far. Anyone. Moneyβs no object. Any name you can imagineβobviously theyβre going to be after.β
And this isnβt just about hosting rights. Saudi Arabia wants creative control too. According to Meltzer, theyβre working overtime to get specific matches madeβeven if that means waiting years to pull it off.
βThey have matches that they want, and theyβre working really, really hard to get. Even though itβs a couple of years, I donβt know if theyβre gonna be able to get them, but theyβre gonna spend a lot of money to get what they want, obviously.β
That includes legends. Retired icons like The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker, and Shawn Michaels are all expected to be approached, even if itβs just to show up for a big-money payday.
βNeither Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels nor Rock vs. Austin are matches Iβve heard specifically. But I would presume all of those people will be contacted. And if they want to do itβeven if itβs just for the paydayβtheyβll be able to do it.β
The entire show is being engineered as a global spectacle, with Saudi General Entertainment Authority chairman Turki Al-Alshikh leading the charge. Meltzer described him as βthe final boss,β a man with the power and budget to bypass even top WWE and Endeavor executives when it comes to delivering what he wants.
WrestleMania 43 wonβt just be the first Mania outside North Americaβit could be the most expensive, extravagant, and insane event WWE has ever produced.
