WWE 2K26 Set to Feature Massive Playable Roster and Revamped Universe Mode

by

WWE 2K26 is quietly shaping up to be the most stacked wrestling game in franchise history—and now we know just how massive the playable character lineup will be.

According to a new January 16, 2026 report from Mike Straw of Insider Gaming, WWE 2K26 will include over 400 playable wrestlers, making it one of the largest rosters ever featured in a WWE 2K title. This includes current Superstars, legends, and a deep pool of NXT and international talent, offering fans more customization and dream matches than ever before.

Straw also confirmed that Universe Mode will bring back the WWE Draft, allowing players to shake up their rosters across Raw, SmackDown, and NXT with more control than ever.

This comes after we had previously reported that CM Punk will headline the game’s Showcase Mode, which will be split into three distinct parts: Punk’s most iconic matches, “What If?” scenarios exploring alternate WWE history, and fantasy matchups that never happened in real life. Punk himself will narrate the entire Showcase.

With over 400 wrestlers to choose from and the return of key features like the Draft, WWE 2K26 is looking like the deepest, most replayable wrestling sim yet—and that’s before the official trailer even drops.
