WWE Confident Drew McIntyre Will Return in Time for SummerSlam Despite Travel Nightmare

Drew McIntyre’s passport fiasco had fans seriously questioning whether the Scottish Warrior would miss SummerSlam entirely—but there’s a new update, and it brings a bit of hope.

According to Fightful Select, WWE sources believe the issue will be resolved. The report stated: “WWE sources we spoke to feel confident it will be rectified, although they obviously weren’t pleased that McIntyre is going through the situation. McIntyre has been a resident of the United States for years and lives in Nashville.”

The situation erupted after McIntyre was blocked from boarding a flight back to the U.S. following a wedding trip to England. The whole ordeal nearly derailed one of WWE’s major SummerSlam matches, where McIntyre is slated to tag with Logan Paul against Jelly Roll and Randy Orton. McIntyre didn’t stay silent about the chaos. From an open field in England, he recorded a video venting his frustration.

“I can’t get back in America. They wouldn’t let me board my flight. Look at the scenic countryside. Does that look like an American scenic countryside? No, I’m in England.”

He explained that despite having proof of his U.S. residency and identity, airport staff refused to let him board without his physical passport.

“Wife and I walked up to the gate trying to check in. Always goes perfectly fine. Not this time though. ‘You don’t have your US passport.’ I know who you are. I know you’ve lived there for a long time. I know you’re showing me pictures of US passport and your Global Entry… it doesn’t matter.” Go ahead babe, don’t think about me. Leave me behind. Leave me to die behind.”

Of course, he didn’t resist tossing some shade at Jelly Roll—blaming the chart-topping star for his misfortune.

“What changed this trip? Jelly Roll… Soon you will not be [hot]. So you’re getting in while you can… When this is all over and I’m going to get back, I’m going to drop you, Jelly Roll. I’m going to make you pay.”

With the premium live event closing in, WWE is working behind the scenes to make sure McIntyre is cleared for return—and they’re banking on it getting sorted before it’s too late.

Do you think Drew McIntyre will make it back in time for SummerSlam, or should WWE line up a backup plan? Drop your take in the comments.
