Pro wrestling can sometimes be a revolving door, and now it is time to see some people leaving. WWE has released several people so far today, and now we have another name. Now, we have another name to add to that list.
Bodyslam.net reports that Summer Sorrell was released from her contract today. This may be a shock for some, because she didn’t have much of a chance to gain a spotlight in the company.
All in all, Summer Sorrell only wrestled seven matches under the WWE banner in 2025, competing mainly through the WWE LFG series and NXT live events. She faced opponents such as Bayley Humphrey, Dani Sekelsky, Fallon Henley, Wendy Choo, and Tatyanna Dumas. Her only victory came against Dumas on the Fight Back episode of LFG. Sorrell’s final WWE appearance took place on September 7, 2025, at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, where she lost to Bayley Humphrey on Last Chance to Impress.
It’s never easy to make the call to cut someone. Hopefully, everyone who lost their position with WWE today will find somewhere very soon in the pro wrestling world. After all, there are a lot of places where talent can go at this point.
What’s your take on today’s roster of WWE releases? Do you believe that there are more on the way? Is this healthy for them or is it a bad sign? Let us know what you think in the comments section!
