If Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham are interested in taking their talents to the WWE, there’s an iconic tag team willing to fight them.
The 2026 WNBA season is up in the air right now as the league and Women’s National Basketball Players Association work out a collective bargaining agreement. Earlier this offseason, Cunningham teased the possibility of her competing in a WWE match with her Indiana Fever teammate.

“They asked me to do it,” Cunningham said. “You know, maybe after I retire or off-season, maybe us two will be the new WWE duo.”
Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark (22) and Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham (8) celebrate from the bench Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2025, during Game 2 of a WNBA playoff matchup between the Indiana Fever and the Atlanta Dream at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
During an interview with Yahoo Sports, the Bella Twins challenged Clark and Cunningham to a match. Nikki would love for them to square off at WrestleMania 42.
“She was in an interview and she called us out. We were like, ‘OK, you want to take the Bella Twins on in the ring?’ Sophie and Caitlin vs. the Bellas,” Nikki said. “Book it, Wrestlemania!”

The interviewer then brought it to their attention that Cunningham is 6-foot-1. That doesn’t see to be an issue though.
“That’s OK,” Brie replied. “We’re ready!”
The WWE has shown interest in Caitlin Clark.
A little over a year ago, WWE superstar Bianca Belair invited Clark to compete in the 2025 Royal Rumble.
“The WNBA is doing that. WWE, we’ve done a lot of unprecedented things where it comes to women. Whether it’s women main eventing WrestleMania, main eventing on a weekly basis on Raw, SmackDown, or PLEs. It would be really cool for the two worlds to combine and have an even bigger impact for women. Caitlin Clark, if you’re watching, come on and join,” Belair said, via CBS Sports. “Come in the Royal Rumble. You can be one of the 30 participants. That’s what’s exciting about the Royal Rumble. You never know what’s going to happen. It could be the past, present, future, or just someone you don’t expect. You might see Caitlin Clark 2025 Royal Rumble in Indianapolis.”

Clark has not yet made her WWE debut, but maybe that’ll change in the coming months.
