Two exhibition games in, he’s off by six. Yaxel Lendeborg scored 25 points for the Wolverines in a preseason game against St. John’s at Madison Square Garden, leading U-M for the second game in a row, as U-M edged the Red Storm, 96-94, in overtime on Saturday, Oct. 25.

Lendeborg, a prized transfer from UAB, hit 10 of 15 shots from the field, including going 2-for-4 from 3-point range, and added 10 rebounds and four assists.

Fellow transfer Aday Mara (UCLA) added 13 points, five rebounds and four assists as the Wolverines rebounded from a 100-98 exhibition loss to Cincinnati last week.
On Saturday, Mara gave Michigan an 84-80 lead with 1:52 remaining in regulation, on a dunk. But Lendeborg missed a pair of driving layups, allowing St. John’s to send it to overtime.
