YMCA Championships Day 4: Jimmy Breeson Takes a First and Second as Spartanburg Leads
The 2025 YMCA Swimming Championships continued from Ocala, Florida, with the Day 4 finals.
The session included the 100 butterfly, 50 backstroke, 400 IM and 400 freestyle relay.
Spartanburg leads the men’s meet and Upper Main Line leads the women’s meet.

YMCA Championships: Women’s 100 Butterfly
Lakeland Hills ‘s Anna Kilponen started the night with a win in the 100 fly, getting to the wall in 1:01.37, just off of her 1:00.99 from prelims.
Jersey Shore’s Maya Freeman finished second in 1:01.77, followed by Upper Main Line’s Audrey Schroeder (1:02.89), Pocono’s Sydney Wolbert (1:02.91) and Triangle Area’s Aubrey Mitchell (1:03.00).

YMCA Championships: Men’s 100 Butterfly
Spartanburg’s Jimmy Beeson claimed victory in the men’s event, racing to a 53.19 finish.
Farmington Valley’s John Rusnock was second in 53.91, followed by York’s Roman Torres (55.43), Foothills’ Luke Hamon (55.79) and Wyckoff’s Ryker Levi (55.89).

Cheshire’s Natalia Gajecki sprinted to the 50 back win in 29.56, winning by five hundredths.
Lowes’ Alyssa Claborn finished second in 29.61, followed by Wyckoff’s Katie Lawrence (29.61), Ridley Area’s Addyson Despeaux (29.96) and Lima’s Lily Baumgartner (30.02).

YMCA Championships: Men’s 50 Backstroke
Greater Somerset’s Kenneth Barnicle blasted a 25.71 to win the 50 back, the lone swimmer under 26 seconds.
Spartanburg’s Jimmy Beeson, fresh off a win in the 100 fly, was second in 26.28.
Lakeland Hills’ Connor Johnson was third in 26.29, followed by Ridley Area’s Jonathan Hoole (26.53) and Triangle Area’s Ryan Sutherland (26.85).

YMCA Championships: Women’s 400 IM
York’s Molly Yacoviello was the only swimmer in the field to break 5 minutes and did so convincingly, clocking a 4:58.36 to earn the win in the 400 IM.
Teammate Aivleen Walsh finished in 5:00.73 for a 1-2 finish.
Lakeland Hills’ Serena Dickey took third in 5:01.81, followed by Lynchburg’s Broughton Webb (5:03.45) and Spartanburg’s Grace Hunt (5:06.09).
