The Young Bucks are on a losing streak.
The August 6 episode of AEW Dynamite took place at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland, Ohio.
This week on AEW Dynamite, a AEW World Tag Team Eliminator Semifinal went down between the Young Bucks against Bandido and Brody King.
The Young Bucks’ terrible treatment from AEW creative continued since they lost their VIP status. Justin Roberts trolled the Bucks during their ring introductions, and they also received the names “Max and Jeremy” on their faceplates as the two made their way to the ring.
This match was evenly paced throughout as they traded advantage throughout. The contest lasted through a commercial break, and then the Young Bucks started to rally once they returned. Nick and Matt landed a flurry of tandem moves, but Brody King was there to stop the pinfall. Then they went to another commercial break as the match continued in picture-in-picture.
By the time we came back, Bandido was stuck in an EVP Trigger from the Young Bucks, but they botched the moved and kicked each other because they didn’t know what to call the move now. Then Brody got the tag to regain control of the match.
There was a bit of miscommunication from Brodido as they carried on. Then the Young Bucks were able to get control with some quick moves. However, Brody King caught Matt Jackson on the top rope for a superplex, but Bandido missed a double team move. Then the Young Bucks threw a Superkick Party.
This match carried on and then Bandido got the pinfall on Matt Jackson. The Young Bucks didn’t like that at all, but this is how the match turned out.
We will have to see who goes on to win this tournament. AEW has a lot of talented tag teams, and this is only more proof of that. It will also be interesting to follow the Young Bucks as they continue trying to re-establish themselves after losing their EVP status.
