Your College Basketball Sunday Viewing Guide: January 4, 2026

by

It’s not a gigantic day of college basketball on national television, but that’s not surprising. It’s the final Sunday of the NFL regular season, and how many tippity top college hoops games do you really want to spend against that calendar?

In any case, there are 23 games on national television today, with a majority of them coming by way of women’s basketball. There’s just five men’s games on national television today, and based on the KenPom.com FanMatch/Thrill Score system, it seems like the most interesting one is the very last game of the day: Washington at Indiana.

Meanwhile, for the women, there’s a bunch of notable contests. 12 of the games have at least one ranked team involved, and there’s two ranked on ranked games going on at the same time in the 2pm Central time hour. That’s #15 Ole Miss visiting #2 Texas and #22 Baylor up north at #10 Iowa State. Because of the placement of the home/road rankings, I think #5 LSU visiting #12 Vanderbilt is the game of the day just because the better team is at a disadvantage as the road team.

There’s three more contests on the women’s side with a ranked team on the road against an unranked opponent, so if you want reasons to cheer against #18 Notre Dame, #3 South Carolina, or #23 Tennessee, there you go.

Of course, there’s even more than just this if you pop over to streaming entities, but this is a national television schedule. I’m not telling you that Cara Consuegra’s Marquette team hosting Villanova is more important than any of the games with ranked teams, but I am telling you that it’s on ESPN+ at 3pm Central. Just sayin’.

Here’s the full national television schedule for the day, with all times Central as always.
