Zags Fall One Spot in First AP Poll of 2026

Despite winning four games in just seven days, the Gonzaga Bulldogs moved down one spot in the Associated Press Poll to No. 7. The Zags received 1,101 total points, and their 16 wins are the most in the country.

The Saint Mary’s Gaels, at an overall 15-2 record, received 10 votes in the AP Poll.

In the NET rankings, coach Mark Few’s group ranks No. 4 amongst all college basketball programs. The Bulldogs are 3-1 in Quad 1 opportunities, 4-0 in Quad 2.

As for KenPom, Gonzaga stands at No. 5 (No. 7-ranked defense, No. 10-ranked offense). In Bart Torvik and EvanMiya, the Zags are placed at No. 7. They’re still solidly on the No. 2 seed line for the NCAA Tournament.

The Zags continue their undefeated stretch in West Coast Conference play against the Santa Clara Broncos (13-4, 4-0 WCC) on Thursday, Jan. 8, in the Kennel in Spokane, Washington. Tip-off is a late one at 8:30 p.m. PT on ESPN2.
